Barnyard Buddies provides enriching early childhood programming on the farm, available all
year for parents and young children to connect and explore.
What the Program Offers
Barnyard Buddies is an early childhood program where parents, caregivers, and young children learn, play, and explore together on a farm. Through hands-on experiences with animals, nature, gardening, and outdoor play, the program supports child development and strengthens the parent-child bond. Activities include songs, stories, time with the donkeys, planting and harvesting, sensory mud kitchen play, crafts, farm walks, and free play, all rooted in the belief that children are capable and curious, learning best through their environment with the support of family and educators.
Building Belonging, Well-Being, and Engagement
Children's learning is fostered by a sense of belonging, well-being, and engagement. Well-being grows through outdoor exploration and nature play, building confidence, curiosity, and independence while promoting healthy habits and environmental awareness. Engagement comes from social interaction, family participation, and meaningful shared moments between parent and child. Belonging is created through a safe, inclusive environment where families connect with other parents and children become part of a community.
What Families Gain
Parents benefit too, connecting with other families, receiving parenting support, and learning about child development in a welcoming, community-focused setting. Together, these elements help families build lasting connections with nature, their community, and each other.
Our Facility
Our goal is to provide a safe environment for our horses and our facility includes:
Bright, indoor riding arena with spacious grooming/tack up areas; heated viewing room; large tack room with show team lockers; large outdoor sand ring and derby field; hacking on site.
Newly built barn attached to riding arena with 7 Comfort stall matted box stalls; heated feed room with laundry facilities; air circulation ceiling fans; heated wash stall; indoor heated washroom; property camera surveillance and 24 hour security system.
Renovated 9 stall century bank barn with insulated tack room.
Manicured, large grass paddocks with safe, maintained fencing; run-in shelters; accessible, automatic water in every paddock.
24 hour care with full time staff on site (including Barn Manager and Trainers)

Robyn is an incredible woman filled with passion and love for animal and humans fortunate to come in contact with her. I have held Foxwood in highest regards for many years due to her kind professionalism, the excellent and optimum horse welfare she teaches and practices, and her unending energy to teach, encourage, keep safe and support every student, as if they were the only one.
Fantastic job Robyn through this time of uncertainty but always!

Foxwood is truly exceptional!
Foxwood has been amazing with my daughter and she absolutely loves going to her lessons. She counts down the days until her next lesson. The instructors, staff and horses/ponies at Foxwood are truly exceptional!

Above all, the spirit of camaraderie and level of sportsmanship amongst these riders is what I love the most about Foxwood...
Robyn is a positive and enthusiastic coach and role model, who engages riders of all levels with her passion for the sport. Her commitment to both horse and rider is evident, by setting achievable goals with her students for the season and always finds something positive and constructive in each training session. Robyn loves what she does and it shows.
This is a gift that they will treasure forever.

Such a wonderful experience...
I've recently started riding at Foxwood and have had such a wonderful experience. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming, kind, and supportive, making me feel comfortable from my very first visit. The horses are well cared for, and it's clear that the staff genuinely care about both the riders and the animals. I'm so glad I found this stable and look forward to continuing my riding journey here. Highly recommend!

Foxwood Farm is a beautiful, well organized barn, with excellent staff and beautiful horses...
Robyn, the owner and resident on the property, is incredibly invested, almost always available, and takes incredible care of each and every horse. She knows every rider, and strives to get a sense of how each person at the barn would be best served by the available classes and coaches. We have only been there since January, but the level of horsemanship and especially attention to the horses' well being and quality of life is exceptional. The coaching strives to improve each individual rider while being committed to a sense of community. Highly recommend this barn!
